SAY CHEESE

Both of the models for the animation began as clay sculptures. One I found at a store as a piggy bank who just screamed to be animated (the mouse). And another that I sculpted myself (the kitty).

The model for both the small mouse and the fat mouse (see bellow) were made from the same model which I put into a wrap deformer to squeeze the model into the appropriate, um, weight class. I used a special shader I wrote to make the greasy fur on the mouse which you can see more examples of in my commercials and film section

Ahhhhh!! Run away! Run away!
It was really hard getting the proportions right on the kitty to make her look cute. At first I made a wide forehead and big eyes, but it looked more like a freaky little furbie.
Proportions are everything. So I made the clay sculpture you saw at the top of this section to work out what the right proportions were. After ajusting her, the final result was this...

It's not so much the porportion of a real kitty as it is what you think a kitty should look like - epitomized cuteness, or as they say in German "Kindchenschema"

Isn't she cuuuuuuute!
